Jingdezhen City, located in the northeast of Huangshan city. It is known as the "Porcelain Capital" because it has been producing Chinese ceramics for over 1,000 years since became the important ceramic producing base from Song Dynasty. And it started to provide the ceramics products for royal palace since Ming and Qing Dynasty. (1368-1912AD). The products made in Jingdezhen City was international awarded several times after 1949.

Porcelain was invented in China over a centuries-long development period and Jingdezhen is often called “Porcelain Capital”.  It takes only 2.5hours driving from Tunxi City (Where Mt Huangshan located) to Jingdezhen City. So we can combine these two destinations together to explore more about Chinese ceramic culture.

Day01 Tunxi (The downtown of Huangshan City) – Jingdezhen (L)

Morning pick you up from the hotel in Tunxi, drive 2.5 hours from Tunxi to Jingdezhen City. We would drive you directly to visit Ancient Kiln Folk Customs Museum. Here you would know the complete procedure of pottery.  The special invited craftsmen would show you the incredible skill inherited for 1,000 years. After lunch , we would drive you to visit Sanbao International Ceramic Art Village. It's a big place to display different kinds of ceramic arts. Then we would drive to your hotel, take a rest inside the hotel firstly. The dinner is on your own arrangement. You can have a walk on Taoxichuan Ceramic Art Avenue in the evening on your own arrangement as the hotel we book for you is located on the avenue, the art zone looks more charming in the evening comparing with the daytime.

Jingdezhen-Tunxi (B/L)

Morning you would firstly visit Museum of Porcelain where is a must-visit place to help you know more about China's history of porcelain. Then if you are interest to go, we would drive you to visit the local market for seeing more local-made ceramics crafts in different grades. Then we drive you back to Tunxi City after lunch.

Traveling Tips:

  • The price float range of ceramic art is great, please try to bargain for a reasonable psychological price.
  • The hotel we recommended is located in Taoxichuan Art Zone, so there is no car rental cost. But if the location of hotel is changed, there might be extra cost for car rental caused.
  • The standing time can be lasted over 3 hours for your visiting to The Museum of Porcelain as rich exhibits are there.
  • The foreign guests for visiting Jingdezhen City are not as more as what to Huangshan City, so their hotel's service level cannot match with the same standard in Huangshan.
