10 Days Tour to Off the beaten track Villages in Guizhou

Arrive Guiyang before 0200pm, be picked up and drive 1.5 hours to visit a Garrison Village built 500 years ago, you will watch the Mask Opera performed by local farmers. Visit local family. Then drive back to Guiyang and stay overnight at 4* Novotel Downtown Hotel.

Note: You can do the hiking for about 1 hour near the village on in March as it's time for the blooming of rape flowers. And the rice terrace field turns golden at the end of Aug and the whole Sep.

Depart from hotel at around 08:30am and drive 3 hours to visit QJ Miao Village – a traditional Miao Village without tourists, and then watch The Ancient Papermaking in Shiqiao Miao Village. Do the hiking from Shilong to Matang. Stay overnight at 4* Grand Metropark Heaven-sent Resort.

Depart from hotel at around 08:30am and drive to visit Jidao Miao Village firstly and we would arrange a private singing and dancing show for you. (Our price quoted included the show for the 6 persons and above but if your group size is below 6 persons, you need to pay US$130 per time to have one private show if you are interested. The Jidao Miao Village is not much highlights if not watch the show there). Then drive to visit HY Miao Village for visiting. Finally we would drive you to visit FP Miao Village. Appreciate the show, FP Miao is famous for their rhythmical and lively dancing and wooden drum dance. Stay overnight at the guesthouse inside FP Miao Village.

Morning depart from the village at around 08:30am, drive 2.5 hours to visit Super Short Skirt Miao Village and appreciate their splendid dressing in Dong people, after that, drive around 1.5 hours to visit a Dong Village with the most splendid dressing in Dong people and appreciate their local sing performance by playing their Pipa – an kind of local instrument. Then continue to drive 1.5 hours to stay overnight at 3* Shangpin Hotel in Rongjiang County. (best available hotel)

Morning depart from the hotel at around 08:30am, and drive around 45 mins to visit Dali Dong Village. The village is a Dong village with typical Dong architectures such as roofed bridges, drum towers, etc. In the village, there is an old house with a courtyard which is the only one in the Dong village. The paths in the village were made of pebble stones and till now has a history of more than 200 years. Then we continue to drive around 1.5 hours to visit Zengchong Drum Tower which is the oldest drum tower in all Dong areas which completed in 17 century. After that, we would drive you to Y Dong Village, on the way you would pass another beautiful Dong village called D village, you can decide to hike around 3 hours from D Village to Y village or you can take a local mini-bus by paying RMB200/per bus to drive to Y village. If the weather and the season time are good, we do suggest you to do the hiking to Y village to see beautiful farmland view along the way. You'd better arrive Y Village before the sunset, so that you can appreciate the sunset view on the wind and rain bridge inside the Y village. Evening you would appreciate the Dong singing show inside the local drum tower, and you also can wear the local Dong dressing and decorate you as a Dong people to attend their show. Then you can have a Barbecue with local villagers after the show. Stay overnight at the guesthouse inside the Y village.

Remark: There is only one guesthouse available in Y village, a young couple run it because they want to take care of their 2 children at home but not always go to work in the big city like other villagers do. So they run this small guesthouse, meanwhile the housewife teach the local children to sing their traditional song without charge just in order to keep their traditional culture. So if possible, we also can organize the children to perform you a small singing show for you without charge.

Get up early at around 06:15am, gather together and we walk around the whole village and also find the highest point to take a panoramic picture of the village. You can see the smoke from kitchen chimneys rise up slowly which the villager are cooking the food ingredients to their pigs. The first light of the sunshine reflect in the wooden roof of the houses, the birds are singing, and the clouds flowing around the mountain around the villages, that's a very peaceful and charming picture. Then we walk back to the guesthouse and have breakfast there. Say goodbye to the young couple and their children, drive around 2 hours to visit a water village. You would take a small boat to pass the Duliu River and visit the water village. Water village lives with Water Ethnic Group people. Then we would take boat back to the road side and drive to visit Hundreds Birds Miao Village. Here you would appreciate the local Miao people to show the traditional hundred-bird clothing with embroidery. The color of the clothes is bright and beautiful which is special in Miao people's dressing. Then we drive around 1 hour to Rongjiang county and stay overnight at 3* Shangpin Hotel again.

After breakfast, you would be driven to visit the Early Market of Dong People. It is an interesting place to wander for an hour or more and watch the local Dong minority going about their business. Many of the Dong, especially the women, dress up in their finest to come to the market. Some wear bright blue jackets with appliquéd and embroidered borders along the sleeves and cuffs, combined with dark, baggy trousers, while others prefer shiny indigo jackets and short skirts. Then we would drive you 1 hour to J H Town, then change into the local mini-bus to YK Miao Village. We would drop you off at the side of the road, the local villager where you would stay in their house for one night would guide you to hike to their village. As Y K is still a village without road access, so you need to walk into the village. So please take your necessary belongs with you, and the rest left it in your car. The way lead to Y K village is mountain way (normally downhill) and you have to walk around 1.5 hours to reach the village. But the view along the way is beautiful, so you would not feel bored to walk this section mountain road. After reaching the village, you walk have dinner together with the local villagers and experience their real routing life, and you might probably do the farming together with the host family. We would offer you some options according to the season. Like seeding, fish catching, rice harvest or even just go to take the water from the river. Sometimes the tap water supply is stop suddenly, then we need to take the water from the river. Have dinner together with the host family. Stay one night there. There is only very simple wooden barrel for pee and the public toilet needs to walk around 10 mins to get there. The condition there is not so idea, but this is a Shangri-la Village inside the mountains. It would be an unique experience for your life and we are happy that we are the offer for such special experience for you.

If you like, you can get up early to take the sunrise picture from the rice terrace field inside the mountain, and then we hike around 3 hours from YK village to SW village. On the hiking way, there is a section of stream, if the weather is comfortable, take off the shoes and walk through the stream without shoes, it's quite interesting and nice experience. On the way drive to Rongjiang county, we would see large scale of the splendid rice terrace field view as Guizhou is a mountainous area and the local residence spend their wisdom and hardworking in this land to gain their happiness. We can stop anytime for you to take picture on this 2 hours driving. Continue to stay the 3 nights in 3* Shangpin Hotel in these 10 days trip.

Depart from hotel at around 09:00am and drive around 2 hours to visit Huanggang Dong Village. Strolling around Huanggang Dong village offers the great opportunity to observe the lifestyle of the Dong people, busy in their daily chores, almost oblivious to some visitors. Then we drive you to Basha Miao Village. The distinctive character of Basha Miao Village is the only tribe that can legally carry real guns in China. That's because the Basha People's ancestors were frontline troops who charged through forests and fought the bears there -- all to guard the land where they lived. So the men in the village preserve their musketeer heritage. After sightseeing in Basha Village, drive around 30 mins to Congjiang County. Stay overnight at 3* plus Xenp Xangh Xedt Lail Hotel (The best available).

Transfer to the bullet train railway station and take train to your next stop.

1） There is bullet train from Congjiang to Guilin, Guiyang, Chengdu, Guangzhou and you can decide which city is convenient for you to do the connection.

2） We use abbreviation for parts of the villages name, that's because we don't want to public their names, it's a kind of protection for the local culture and tradition as they are not the tourists places.
